Authority

Authority is the first recognized CA in Hong Kong under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance. It commenced its operation since 31 January 2000 to provide public certification service to support e-commerce development in Hong Kong. Hongkong Post Mobile e-Cert System
On 8 October 2001, Hongkong Post launched the world's first mobile e-Cert CA system for community-wide adoption, a major milestone for Hong Kong mobile commerce.

Online Application Service
As part of our ongoing effort to provide innovative, expedient customer service, you can now apply online for a Hongkong Post e-Cert (Personal) certificate at
https://www.hongkongpost.gov.hk/5digital/dc1_frApp.html
This service allows the subscriber to complete the application form through Internet and to complete the identity authentication process by selecting any post office to conduct the identity authentication, or using an on-site registration service.

Online Renewal Service
Hongkong Post e-Cert (Personal) certificate holders can now conveniently and quickly renew their e-Certs online. Subscribers are simply required to complete a renewal form and follow payment instructions at
https://www.hongkongpost.gov.hk/5digital/dc1_frRenewal.html.
The renewed certificate file will be delivered to a designated address free of charge by Recorded Delivery.

User Software
The new e-Cert User Software 2.0 (downloadable) is a valuable tool for e-Cert subscribers [except e-Cert (Server)] who prefer generating certificates on their own. This enhanced version is more user friendly and supports latest version of your computer system and software. After receiving notification e-mail from Hongkong Post CA, subscribers can use this software and go online to obtain and install the e-Cert.

i-Security Solutions Limited now provides Crypto Tools (e-Cert) v2.5 to Hongkong Post e-Cert holders enabling users to experience the security and convenience of digital certificates. The patch for upgrading is now available. The new features of the patch are to support signing of document to PKCS# 7 v1.5 format and support verification of signed document of PKCS# 7 v1.5 and v1.6 format.

with Hong Kong Domain Name Registration Co. Ltd.
Starting from 9 November 2001, Hongkong Post CA's web site will feature information on the ".hk" domain name registration service provided by Hong Kong Domain Name Registration Co. Ltd. (HKDNR), which is the only organisation accredited by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers ("ICANN") in Hong Kong.
